I have been researching my Agee line since 1999 with this site. Since then I have ascertained that my line is more than likely related to the Agee family listed on the Dawes/Choctaw Rolls. PLEASE SEND ME AN E-MAIL if any of the Agee(s) on this site are related to the following list on the Choctaw Rolls, or if you know anything about this Native American family. My Mother told me in 1995 that we had "Indian" blood. When I questioned her further, she said she "thought" that we were Cherokee; that her grandmother was 3/4 and she "thought" it was Cherokee. Since then, I have learned that we are more than likely Choctaw, as there are no Agee(s) listed on the Cherokee Dawes Rolls and I heard from another family member that it is highly likely that we are Choctaw rather than Cherokee. I have talked to a lot of Agee families and no one seems to be related to the Agee family that is listed on the Rolls and that family is listed as: QUANTUM: Choctaw by blood: Agee, Obera Agee, Zora Agee, Hester Lee Agee, Pearl
I will not quote their Roll Numbers, as I am not privy to give that info out here, but it can be verified at: www.dawesrolls.org
www.nara.gov also lists the above names and Florence Agee, Anna Agee, and W.E. Agee as Choctaw by blood, however, I did not see that info on the Dawes Rolls.
Surely, there is someone else researching this Agee line? PLEASE contact me if you are, or if you have any information that might further my search. I need to determine if I belong to this family. If I can prove that one of these Choctaw Agee members are from my Agee line, then I can rightfully belong to the Choctaw Nation. I am not looking for ANY monetary or financial gain from the tribe, I only wish to be a card carrying Native American member and to finally be able to prove the 'secret' information my Mother revealed to me before she died, that in her own words, "we have Indian blood." I am trying to prove ancestry for not only myself, but for my sisters as well, because they were not present when my Mother told me that we possessed Native American blood and 'because' they were not present they doubt that the information was said.
Thank you for any help someone might be able to give me.
