Have new info about Daniel Agnew who migrated from Antrim County, northern Ireland in 1764.He had a son (name unknown) who married Sarah B. Howell, daughter of George Richard Howell, Governor of New Jersey. This son became a medical doctor, was an early settler in Butler, PA and later moved to the Harmony Settlement near Butler, PA.He had a son, Judge Daniel Agnew, who also moved from New Jersey to Beaver county, PA.during his law career, he became Cheif Justice of the Pa Supreme Court. In 1767, he officiated for the state and signed the famous "Purchase Line Aagreement."the boundary line in this agreement started at Cherry Tree in Indiana Co., PA and went west to Butler, PA.Judge Daniel Agnew had a brother John Agnew and a son Franklin H. Agnew who became Judge of Beaver County. It is possible that this line of Agnews are the ones that settled in the Hominy Ridge area of Jefferson Co., PA. The line that settled in Hominy Ridge in Jefferson Co. is my family line. The above came from a book that I just got titled John Agnew of Hominy Ridge. It tells about the Scotch-Irish background of the Agnew name.
