I'm not researching this line.However, I do have Roane Co. NELSON connections and a RAMSEY connection (but proved not from Roane).Early on when pensions were cheap, got this one.May be some clues; i.e. searching Rhea Co., TN?

JOEL HEMBREE'S COMPANY in the Florida War and was discharges at Charleston, Tennessee 7 July 1837, that he is totally unable to earn a support by manual labor by reason of old age & infirmity.Appointed A. JOEL HEMBREE, commanded by JOE BYRD in the Indian War; enlisted at Athens, Tenn 7 July 1836 for the term of one year, discharged at Charleston, Tenn 7 July 1837.At time of enlistment was age 22, 5 feet 11 inches, auburn hair, fair complexion, occupation farmer, born Roane Co., TN.Resided in Rhea County about 42 years, Rockwood, Roane Co. 11 years.Married BARBARA [I. or J.] FRAZIER on 11 Nov 1846; said wife died 20 Dec 1857, since remarried to Miss D. 1 April 1893, DEAINIRA RAMSEY aged 63, resident of Rockwood, Tennessee, states she is the widow of JOHN L. RAMSEY who served as a Private in the company commanded by Capt. JOEL HEMBREE in the Regt of Tennessee Vols in the Florida War; that he enlisted at Athens, Tenn on or about the [blank] July 1836 and was honorably discharged at Cahoun, Tenn on the [blank] July 1837, not served in any other company.At the time of entering service he was 22 years of age, 6 (Six) feet, blue eyes, light hair, fair complexion, occupation farmer, and that he was born near Poplar Creek County of Roane, State of Tennessee.Since leaving service resided at Washington, Rhea County 11 years; Decatur, Tenn about 9 years; in Knox County 2 years; at Rockwood Tenn about 12 years and that he lived most of the time from 1841 to 1859 at Rhea Springs, Tenn.That he was married to BARBARIA FRAZIER on the 11 day of November, A.D. 1846 at Washington, Tenn; that his said wife is now dead, having died on the 20 day of December 1857; that he remarried, and that the maiden name of his wife was DEAIANIRA WILSON.She was the widow of JEFFERSON AHART.JOHN R. RAMSEY died in Rockwood, Roane County, Tenn March 23, 1893.

Tenn, the rolls report him enrolled June 25, 1836 at Kingston, Roane Co., and discharged July 7, 1837 at Fort Cass, E.T. [?East Tennessee].He was paid from July 8, 1836, date of muster, to July 7, 1837, 1 year, and 2 ½ days travel, 50 miles from place of discharge home.The muster rolls of Co. show stationed as follows,
Sept 18, 1836 Ross' Landing; Nov 14, 1836, Ross' Landing; Dec 31, 1836, Cantonment Wood, near Ross' Landing; March 8, 1837, Ross Landing, Tenn, and May 12, 1837 Ross' Landing, Tenn.The Co. was ordered in to the service upon requisition of the Secretary of War.No engagement is reported and the rolls afford no further information.
