Rescued Photo, AIKENS Surname, Thumb Area, Michigan
I rescued an old photo from an auction. The person who had it, bought it from an estate sale, and didn't provide exactly where in the description.
The photo is really neat. It looks like, 11 kids all in bonnets or straw hats, three women and a man, posing by a wagon, that is loaded down with crates. It's most likely harvest time. It's sepia tone, 5X7 in size, matted onto a larger piece of board.I was told, it was taken, approximately 1890-1900.It's possible.
Written on the back is Gertie Hoffman, and in smaller letters, Lizzie Aikens.I don't know who is who, as it doesn't indicate it.
I would like get this treasure into the hands of family.
All I ask is what I paid for it, plus cost for a mailer and postage (which is usually about $2.)
Kathy
