Its a year since I last wrote with enthusiasm about my visit to Goonhilly earth station, and I have been on a learning curve ,computerwise since then. I maintained three friendships that I made, and met all three and their spouses ,in the flesh, and that was a delightful experience,
So I am extremely grateful to Jayne whom I believe set it up.
I am still on the Aindow trail, amongst others, and established contact with present descendants in America, and Bermuda. The Aindow descendant from Bermuda,is currently on a visit to Merseyside, but living in the West country,I can't make it to see him This week I got a couple of death certificates through, from The Liverpool registrars and Knowsely borough
"Gentleman John",remember him?His son Philip Lawson, who ,sadly was christened the day of his mother's burial at Huyton,(Jane Lawson Aindow)lived with my Gt Gran Ann,mostly in Huyton, but later in Exe Sr L.Pool,Nr Upper Parliament St.He sadly died of consumption ,only 26 yrs,in 1901. Ann Guy,Nee Aindow,((his aunt who had reared him ) died in 1909,in Huyton, some months after her husband Coachman Philip Guy. The latter was comparatively young, being 10 yrs her junior, and family gossip said he died 'Laughing' He was enjoying a chat, and a joke with the medics round his bed in the L.Pool Royal Infirmary, and he gave a hearty laugh and expired. Actually,he died of aortic stenosis, and a cerebral haemorrhage, and she died of hypostatic pneumonia!
So much for the deaths. There is currently a huge tree in America and it includes a couple of Mormons in Oregon, whom a Liverpudlian cousin has just visited. So we are spread out. Among my descendants, there's one who has just started at Devonport grammar school, and a little red head of six, whom the tooth fairy has visited ! My Formby contemporary has been in touch, and is anxious to get in touch with jayne.Regrettably I can't help,as I've no email address. So perhaps Jayne would get in touch with him.
Regrettably we've both had computer hiccups recently, but there are some repair wizards around, and we're functioning again. God Bless Beryl,(Moorehead)
