Trying to identify a family found in Butler Co., AL in 1860.Family headed by J. C. Ainsworth, age 31, wife A., age 30, two sons - J. C. C. age 4, and F. age 4 months.Living next door is apparently newly married couple headed by B. Ainsworth, age 20 and wife (assumed) A. age 19.
Further research suggests that the B. Ainsworth might be Barton G. who married Julia Ann Burkett in 1860.Marriage record info reports that Bondsman for their wedding was a J. C. Ainsworth and wedding location was at the (home?) of Joseph A. Ainsworth.
Barton G. is supposedly a son of Richard Nathaniel (H)Ainsworth.Trying to figure out how the J. C. and Joseph A. relate to him.Cannot locate these families in earlier census records to make a positive ID (can you tell me where they were?), and cannot find them in 1870.
J. C. C. turns out to be Jessie C. who married a Samantha "Mattie" and died in 1922 Geneva Co., AL.One of their daughters married a Pridgen there.
F. is found in 1880 near Jessie C. in Starlington, Butler Co., AL and in 1900 is still there, but listed as F. L. (these initials are very frustrating!).Wife is M. E. or Mandy, and a son was General Washington Ainsworth, b. 1886.Can't find him later than 1900.
