I'm not quite sure what you mean by is this my obediah.The first obediah would have been born around 1740-1750.He fought with delancy's westchester refugees and was awarded a land grant in wallace river ,NS. Apparently the land wasn't worth much and he wandered down to westmoreland and then to saint john.If you would like more info on himcheck johnsons vital stats from newspapers as almost all of his family is listed in that, either births, deaths or marriages. I know his death is listed as is his wifes catherines. If I remember right, he died around 1815 and his wife around 1820. Your obediah born in 1820, would probably be a grandson, or a grandson of another akerley , either james or benjamin who were loyalists as well and living in saint john.Most probably he was a grandson of the first obediah. The next time I am in the library I'll reference the vital stats for you and see, as I'm kinda curious myself.
