Hi Bill, Thought I would update on my Nathaniel Akers, b 1832, VA, d 12/29/1897, Lawrence Co., OH, Decatur Twp, s/o Robert & Rebecca (Hollandsworth) Akers. Nathaniel m Louisa A. Jackson Feb 1850, by Rev. Farmer, in Cassville/Fort Gay, WV. Louisa was d/o Elijah Jackson. Nathaniel served in Union Army, 11/19/1861 to 1/31/1865, enlisting at Louisa, VA, F-14, Infantry, and was a musician (?) for Co F.Troop was commanded by Col. L. T. Moore. In his pension app, he was described as fair complected, dark hair, blue eyes, 5'11"...perm disability in right leg. He was living in Ironton, OH, Mount Vernon Furnace, when he applied for the pension. Witnesses to his app were Rollin Jackson, (b-in-law) and Frank Thompson...( I suspect is also b-in-law, m to Nathaniels sister, Sally). Also witnessing, were Thomas Stapleton and Geo. W. Keyes (?) On widows pension app, 3 sons witnessed , Ike Akers, John Akers and Harve Akers. Census info lists these as children of Nathaniel & Louisa: Rebecca, m. Michael Henry Sr. Fisher Juliana, b 1855, m William A. Brown....my line John A., b abt 1859 James H. (Harve?), b. 1862 Isaac "Ike", b 1869 Josephine, b. 1873
