There is documented info. concerning two William Akers who were early settlers. One William settled in Virginia and was involved in a land transaction around 1668,The second William settled in N. J. between 1650 and 1700.He was also involved in a land transaction for building a church. The second William was a quaker. There are other records of his family activities around 1700.
The second william had three known sons. One was named Robert Akers who settled in Pa.Some of his descendants still live there.I cannot prove that Benjamin Akers was one of Robert's descendants but the fact that Benjamin came from Pa. suggest that he is a descendant of Robert.
There is another researcher (Michael Scott Caldwell) who has studied the Pa. family much more in detail. I suggest that you contact him at the following address. firstname.lastname@example.org..comHe also has a website. David
