David, Many thanks for your posting. We have corresponded in the past & I have visited your website on many occasions. I was about to point out the difficulty in trying to trace the place of birth in England of "your" William AKERS ca 1650 in the absence of any documentary evidence, bearing in mind there were probably 500-800 people in England with the AKERS/ACRES surname in the 17th Century, scattered around the country in at least 6 or 7 different locations, with William being the most popular male birth name. Then the very next posting on the AKERS forum was Leland Garton's detailed & compelling theory that William AKERS was born in Wantage Berkshire in 1648. This could be a significant breakthrough. I have done a lot of research of the AKERS surname in the UK in recent years and have information on various AKERS lines in the Berkshire/Oxfordshire area. When I have carried out further research & looked more closely at Leland's posting I shall respond in more detail.
