I believe the names Acaster ,Akester and Akister are derivatives of locational names of people from Acaster Malbis and Acaster Selby ,two villages just south of York. I have info. on some Akisters in Lancashire who moved from Yorkshire ,where there still many living. If you send me details I will see if I can match up.
There are three Akesters in the Melbourne area , my cousin and his two children!! In the 1700's the names were interchangeable. Look forward to hearing from you. Tony
