The book mentioned in my last message was written by Jesus Erasmo Leal Flores. He is the present "Cronolista" for the City of China, N.L. He can be reached by E-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. As I mentioned in my last message, he also has a data base he has compiled from the local Catholic Church records,so he can enter a name into the data base and retrieve all data of the record instantly. He is missing the first records (1790's)since they were very hard to read.
The Catholic Church in China kept records of all surrounding areas until around 1850 when other Churches were built, so records for General Bravo, Los Herreras, and all surrounding areas are included in his data base up to 1850. After that, only China records were kept. Before 1859 more or less, it was mandatory to record all events in the Catholic Churh until a system of civil records was started. Being that most people were Catholic, most records were still recorded in the Church.
If you are doing research in the China area, you should contact him and inquire the cost for obtaining records. It might save you a lot of time.
Esteban Alanis' first wife was Gudalupe De Los Rios (from my recollection only). You can obtain all data of their wedding from him.
If you can't contact him, let me know. I can contact him for you.
