The Philadelphia and Albright Settlement in Craighead Co. (Craighead Co. History)
Augustus Garland Albright of Hoxie, made a careful research in tracing the
genealogy of theAlbright family, tracing the family back to the House of
Hapsburg in Austria. John Albright Native of North Carolina, born in 1782,
and who on January 4, 1810, married Elizabeth Sharp, Daughter of conrad Sharp,
built a number of flatboats on the bank of the Clinch River in Campbell Co.
Tennessee, for th purpose of moving to Arkansas. On February 19, 1851, the
little colony floated down stream into the Tennessee River Thence into the Ohio,
and on down the Mississippi to the mouth of the St. Francis.
