I descend from George W. Albritton (1810-1867), younger brother to your Lavincy Albritton Lee. Both Martin B. Lee and George W. Albritton moved from Snow Hill, Wilcox Co AL to eastern Union Parish LA in about 1847. Their mother Penelope Frizzle Albritton also moved with them. I'm from Union Parish, but today, ironically, I live in Pitt Co NC, where Enoch Albritton and Penelope Frizzle were both born.
I have information on the Frizzle and Rountree connections that I can send electronically, if you'll contact me.
As for Enoch Albritton's father, many have speculated that it was James Albritton, Jr. However, to date there is NO proof of this connection. The records of Pitt County have been destroyed except for the old deeds. Some have used the process of elimination to formulate a somewhat convincing argument that Enoch was James Jr.'s son. I personally tend to think this line of reasoning is probably correct. However, this does not prove Enoch's parentage. I have searched and searched here in eastern NC for proof of Enoch Albritton's parents, but such proof is not to be found in the surviving Pitt County records. Perhaps one day someone will locate some record in the NC Archives in Raleigh or maybe an old Bible will surface.
But for now, to my knowledge, there is simply no evidence that conclusively proves who James Albritton, Jr.'s children were, nor who Enoch's father was.
