I'm on a fishing expedition, basically, and I'm wondering if anyone might have some insight. I am descended from Martin Albro of Pownal, VT. For some years, we have known his wife only as Mary ______. They married in about 1775 and had 10 children in Pownal before 1800. While looking at data at www.Pownal.org, the idea came into my mind that their child Joseph T. Albro might have been named for someone in Mary's family, as Joseph does not appear with frequency on that Albro line. A quick search revealed the Towslees in Pownal and a further check at the LDS search came up with Mary Towslee, daughter of William, born at Suffield, CT in 1754. Given that a number of Pownal Towslees have Suffield roots, and that Martin Albro was born in 1752, it seemed a good fit. Then I happily noticed that Martin and Mary's first child was named William, another name not present on his background. So, the long and the short of it, do you know anything that would prove or that would contradict my theory that Mary ____ Albro was born Mary Towslee, the daughter of William Towslee and Sibble Spencer?
