Walter, I am a descendant of Capt. Josiah Allday of the St. George Parish Militia before the Revolution. My recent research has been into the ancestry of Elizabeth Perrin Allday's mother and father.Elizabeth was the executor of her mother, Ann Porter Perrin, in 1711.Have you ever looked into the Perrin/Porter lines? In Ann's will she mentions her plantation, Long Swamp, located on the s. side of the James in Henrico, Co.Long Swamp is purported to have been the plantation of Robert Porter in the mid-seventeenth century. Was Robert her father? There is also said to have been a William Porter in Henrico at that time or in the vicinity of James City or Norfolk counties. I do not know how he was related to Ann Porter Perrin, if he was. Hope you may have something to relate.
