It was good to hear from you...I was just in the Carolinas week before last.. Doing some research.I had planned to attend the "JOHN BLANTON" Family reunion there near Green Sea on 10/7/2007, but I had to come home early due to a family illness.
As you probably know, this John Blanton (b: 1795/6) in Duplin/Sampson to Joshua and his first wife, Mary Alderman had a brother named David Blanton (b: 3/9/1791 - d: 1/1/1837).David left the Duplin/Sampson area of N.C. between Census time in 1820 and Nov. 1823.In Nov. 1823 he shows up by land plat in Bullock County, Georgia living next door to an "Alexander Blanton", as well as two of the Alderman cousins. There are Alderman's also in Scriven County, Georgia at this time as well.In 1826 and 1828, two of these Alderman's move to S. Georgia, the area where I live today.
AFter 1827, David Blanton moves his family to this same area; either following the Alderman cousins, or coming with the one who came in in 1828.David and his family are here by 1830 census. My lineage from David is: Edmond (b: 1815), Aaron (b: 1860), Lattie (b: 1900), and my father, Mannis D. Blanton Sr. (b: 1923).
Is James Cleveland Blanton Jr. (b: 6/9/1930) your father, or grandfather?
