Thomas Edward Alderson Born 6/6/22 -Ferndale Died 9/12/10 - Bellingham
Thomas Edward Alderson was born on June 6, 1922 in Ferndale to Thomas and Evelyn (Jones) Alderson. He grew up and went to school in Ferndale where in his junior year met Marjorie Day who later became his wife. They spent 68 years together. Tom served as an aviation radioman in the Coast Guard during World War II, training in New Jersey, then stationed in San Diego and Port Angeles. After the war, Tom moved with his family back to Whatcom County. Tom drove a bus from Acme to Bellingham and occasionally took skiers to Mt Baker. He worked at the Greyhound Depot for 30 years. Tom had a great sense of humor and many friends. His love of dogs and duck hunting was reflected in the many pictures and carvings in the family home. Tom grew beautiful flowers and vegetables wherever he lived. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Elaine Crabtree and Charlotte Barr. He is survived by his wife Marjorie; sons Jim (Pam) Alderson and Don (Mayrus Helberg) Alderson; sister Pearl Fassett; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. At Tom's request, no service will be held. A family gathering will be scheduled at a later date. The family wants to thank Tom's good friends, Home Attendant Care and Whatcom Hospice for their support and expert help. Memorials may be sent to Whatcom Hospice.
