Harold, I read your email message. I descend from Timothy Aldrich, Jr. through his daughter, Almira, (1826-1898) who married Abram Faust(Foust) (1814? 1892?).Timothy was first married to Temperance Wyatt (1801-36) but she died in child birth. He then married Sophia Smith Russell.Timothy Jr., according to what Almira told my grandmother, Iona Foust McGinnis (1880-1969) must have served during the War of 1812. Sophia made Almira work at a spinning jenny all day long so she decided to marry Abram Foust in Delaware County, 1845.They moved to Limeridge, Sauk County, Wisconsin, about 1855. Their children were:Lorinda who married Frank Wood and moved back to Cardington, Morrow County, Ohio.Lorinda was born about 1846.The next child was Ada Jane (1848-1932) who first married a Nathan Northrup and then an Ed Durgin from Milnor, North Dakota. The next child was Lucinda, (1850? died 1890?) who married Orson Merryman of Delaware Co. Ohio. The youngest child was my own great-grandfather, Orson W. Foust (1858-1928) who married Alice Elizabeth Johnston near Limeridge,Wisconsin.Their oldest child, my grandmother, Iona Foust McGinnis (1880-1969) was born in Limeridge (actually Sandusky community). They all moved to Sargent County, North Dakota in 1883when it was still Dakota Territory.Almira is buried in the Sargent County Cemetery, Cogswell, North Dakota.Old Abram is supposedly buried somewhere near Deadwood, South Dakota.
I read on one of the email messages lately that the parents of Timothy Aldrich Sr. (1762-1837) were Abram Aldrich and Ruth Sheldon. This seems very logical. I would like to see the source.I would also like to see the source of Timothy's supposed service during the American Revolution. He was cited by the DAR in 1943 as having been an American Revolution veteran. My grandmother McGinnis remembered and loved Almira Aldrich Foust and always told us that Almira had French blood. This must had to have come from her grandmother Lucina, second wife of Timothy Aldrich, Sr.I don't know Lucina's maiden name.It is supposed to say on her tombstone in the Foust or Mound Cemetery in Delaware County, that she died in 1836 in her 70th year.
I won't try to bombard you with more information at this time.If you need more bits and pieces of information please email or write to me.My address: Warner Conder, P.O. 773, Ellington, Mo. 63638(573) [email protected]!
