Forgive me if I have trouble making myself clear--I am just re-entering genealogy after years of doing nothing and have little computer expertise!Lucy PLEASANT dau/Micajah & Dolly (PLEASANTS) PLEASANT m. Richard Simpson ALDRIDGE s/James and Alcey (JACOBS) ALDRIDGE.Ch. of James (per probate records of Caswell Co NC): John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Joseph, James, Susan(nah), and Richard Simpson.Susan(nah) m. David MELTON s/? and had Albert, Alvise Monroe, David A or F, William, and Joseph all living in Green Co MO on 1850 & 1860 census (also living with this family on both census:Sarah Melton 17 NC and David MELTON 8 MO).Andrew ALDRIDGE b. ca 1810 Caswell Co NC, d. aft 1860 ?Greene Co MO?, m. Martha "Patsey" MELTON and had James M., Elizabeth, ?Mary?, Susan F., Martha/?Marthena?.I have seen Andrew's father given as William ALDRIDGE but that is in lineages which attribute William as a son of the James husband of Alcey above and Caswell Co NC probate records do not list a William as son/James.I do have a reference to Andrew following his uncle Richard Simpson ALDRIDGE to MO.
I would be grateful for MELTON data (I graduated from high school with a girl named Frances MELTON but this was years before I had a clue of a family connection and have no idea where she is now) especially as concerns the MO branch of the family. As you likely know, Micajah and Dolly were cousins and Dolly's line is on file with the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.
