The Aldridges lived next door to my family (Seale and Ross), Walter "Seals" and his wife Mary Ethel Tatum with their daughter Agnes (13 at the time) and G. W. and Mary K. Ross with their daughter Willie (4 at the time).
I'm not sure if they are the same Aldridge family, but just down the road from where the Seale family lived there was an old store called "Aldridge's" where one could buy gas from an old-fashioned pump and buy penny candy (and Cokes for a nickle - LOL!).I used to go there every day when I was a kid. This store was directly behind my stepfather's house in Keltys.
I don't know a lot, but perhaps my Mom could answer any questions you have. You can email me at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org - either.
Old Mr. Aldridge was always so very nice. He'd sometimes give us extra candy in our sack.:)I remember him, but he's the only one I can remember.
My great great grandmother, Missouri D. Bucklew Hill, I believe was an Aldridge before she married (unproven). She and her husband John W. Hill are both buried in the Dunn-Aldridge Cemetery in Angelina County. Also buried there are my great grandmother and great grandfather, Altha Jane Hill Guffey and Samuel Columbus Guffey, and a sister of Altha's named May Hill who never married. There is also a Robert Hill buried there.
There was also a Douglas Aldridge in Keltys who was a friend of my family's. His wife was named Ina and they had a couple of children:Brown and Lou.
Louis Aldridge was somehow related to the Holt family.
