Hello I am looking for other researchers interested in Cornelius Aldridge.LDS extraction of baptismal records show that Cornelius was baptised 9 Jan 1831 in Chepstow Wales in a Wesleyan (ie Methodist) chapel.Father was Daniel Aldridge who per similar records was christened 19 June 1785 in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England. The mother is named Elizabeth and she was born about 1788 in Wonastow, Monmouthshire, Wales. Cornelius spent most of his adult life as a commercial traveller. I do know that Chepstow and Berkeley are both near the English/Welsh border, but I don't know much about how the Aldridges came to be in Wales rather than England.I don't know the Aldridge line any further back than Daniel's father shown as Thos Aldridge.I also don't know anything about Elizabeth. One of Cornelius' children was Walter George Aldridge born in 1861 in Camberwell, Surrey, became a greengrocer, and one of his children was the Rev. Clarence Walter Aldridge, born 21 Jan 1886, in Mortlake, England.Clarence miraculously ended up going to Oxford University, we think on some kind of religious scholarship and became a Wesleyan minister. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who would like to share information.
