Certainly seems to be worth pursuing !My first knowledge of James came from a stack of family papers my father left, which includes a memorial card stating " In Loving Memory of James Aldridge. Who died February 7th 1910. Aged 59 years"I have subsequently confirmed that James was one of my g-g-grandfather's sons, by his first marriage.
At the time of the 1871 census, James was aged 19, a chairmaker, and living at 19 Sherborne Villas, Chepping Wycombe, with his father William & stepmother Susan, along with his brother William (23), sister Mary (17), stepbrothers Jabez (8) & Joseph (4) and stepsisters Emily (6) & Annie (2). Also in the household was Henry (24), Susan's (illegitimate) son.
Do you fancy a trip to the Family Records Centre to search through some more census records ? We might crack it together !
