Here is the information I have on my Michael Elshire/Aleshire b. probably in IN. married 7 Nov 1836 to Nancy Dodge in Floyd Co., IN and died in Meigs Co., OH ca 1895/96. 2nd mariage to Elizabeth Ann Atkins. (Her 3rd marriage at least. They had no children)
I have the folowing children listed, but there is a large gap between the first child I have and the marriage date so there are probably more children born to this couple.
Henry Leke d. civil war Ida V. md. james (Juney) Vaughn Frank d. in the Black hills of ND mining for gold. Marion d. civil war James Nelson - My great grandfather. d. Lewis Co., KY Steven Girard d. Rome, Adams Co., OH George d. Rome, Adams co., OH
Leke and Marion may actually be the same person.
Michael Elshire/Aleshire 70th Reg. 1861 Civil War. (West Union, Adams Co. Ohio)
Ida May Ailshire Polly, Michael's granddaughter, states in a letter dated Sept. 26, 1974 that Micheal died when she was 11 or 12 years of age.
