I had forgotten that some 8 years back I had inquired about an Alexander Bible, in the possession of Beatrice Alexander. Beatrice is deceased and I have no idea as to where the Bible is.Beatrice read over the phone the family listings in the Bible which have been quite helpful, and yet leaves major questions. Here are the reports one familymember received as to the contents of the Bible:On Flyleaf of the Bible, it reads John Alexander's Book--bought at Philadelphia anna dom 1750 price twenty shillings; then: Andrew Alexander married Elizabeth Black in Bedford City, Va. Quaker ceremony. Andrew was son of Thomas and Mary Alexander--was born ye 13th of September, one thousand seven hundred & sixty nine. Thomas Alexander son of Thomas and Mary Alexander was born ye seveteenth of February 1774.Hennery Gay so of john and mary Gay is listed born ye 13 of March 1750; finally in back of Bible are the names: David B. Alexander and John McBride, born November 1722. Our family has tried for many years to find Thomas Sr.We also cannot be sure that the Bible read John Alexander, for we cannot connect any such person to our family. I apologize for the length of this note but primarily I thought it could help someone in their search on the Alexanders. I would know nothing about the Bible had I not contacted a lady who had sent in an inquiry to a journal 30 years prior to my reading her inquiry. We were able to hook up in our research. Thanks to all.
