I'm going to work a bit backward here so anyone who has the information I'm looking for can help me out the best way possible:
My grandmother is Lois Angleton (Oct 31, 1922 - ) whose father is William Bryan Angleton Sr. (31 Mar 1896 - 12 Feb 1983) and mother Edna Vida Nuckolls (1897 - ).
William Bryan Angleton is a son of James William Angleton (23 Jan 1865 - 20 Jan 1957) and Margaret "Maggie" Dell Alexander (23 Dec 1868 - 19 Jun 1934).
Maggie Dell Alexander is a daughter of Hugh Houston Alexander (23 Mar 1834 - 28 May 1896) and Martha Brick Snodgrass (10 Mar 1837 - 12 Sep 1879).
Hugh Houston Alexander is a son of William James Alexander (14 Jan 1801 - 8 Feb 1881) and Amanda Jane Wallace (14 Dec 1804 - 24 Jan 1869).
William James Alexander is a son of Hugh Alexander, Jr. (1778 - 1847) and Ann Dean/Dew (1780 - 1859).
As we can see Hugh Alexander, Jr. is a son to Hugh Alexander, Sr. (1755 - 1805) and Margaret ?Elder? (1760 - ).
Hugh Alexander, Sr. is a son of Robert Alexander, Sr. (1710 - 18 Nov 1783) and Esther Beard (1723 - 1780).
Robert Sr. is a son of William Alexander, the Corpulent, (1676 - 1749) and Jean McNutt (1681 - ).
William Alexander is a son of Thomas Alexander (1630 - 1698) and Marion Peadie (1648 - ).
Thomas Alexander is a son of Archibald Alexander (1610? - 1689) and Elizabeth McKay (1616 - 1714)?
The only time I ever use question marks is when I dispute an item in my family's ancestry. It would be nice to have the right lineage back to Angus Og Macdonald (1272 - 1318) and Agnes O'Cathan (1274 - 1315).I know there are a number of Macdonald lines extending out and down from Angus Og and it would be nice to find the right line of which I descend from.To be honest and fair, I am not trying to find false leads or inaccurate information (not a reflection on anyone in the least), I just want to find the line as to which my family came from is all.If anyone can help me I would be pleased to know.Thanks.
