Samuel Alexander, was he son of Rev. James Andrew Alexander?Did Rev. James m. Mary Maxwell?I have that Rev.
James d. in Ulster, Ireland, about 1704, and I have never before seen mention of
who his wife was. Some say the 7 bro's
"rescued" Rev. James Andrew Alexander
from "something", and he might have been
their minister rather than father.
Also, I had never known the maiden name
(surname) of Samuel's wife, Mary.Has that
been now established?
As an aside, James, whom you refer to as
James B. (never knew his middle init), I think, had two Alexander women descendants m. into my line (Samuel's), and perhaps one Alexander male (John
Alexander, s. James and Rachel A.
The two women:Margaret, dau. of James
and Rachel A. m. my 'uncle' Charles A. of
yore.Charles A.'s son, Chas Grandison A.,
m.James' brother Stephen A.'s g-dau.
Martha Wilson Alexander, dau. of Joseph
W. and Margaret (Hope) Alexander.
3 of the 7 bro's, Joseph, Andrew, and Wm,
produced Col. Adam A., son of Wm, gs of
Elias.Col Adam's son Charles Taylor A.
m. Margaret Means. They had daughter Margaret Means Alexander who m. my
'uncle' of yore Moses Winslow A., son of
Daniel & Susannah (Shelby) A. of Meck.
If you can clarify the questions above, I
would appreciate it.Incidentally, I had
tried to contact you, Joanne, before,
but the e-mail was returned.I used the
same e-mail address given in the query; i.e.,
Thank you very much for a reply.Kind regards, Mac Alexander.
