Alexanders from Ireland

My great-grandmother was Mary Alexander, who was born in Dublin about 1820, of Scottish parents. She married my great-grandfather, Adam Hutchison (Hutcheson) in Glascow, Dec 2, 1836.They emigrated to Connecticut about 1844.They appear in the 1850 CT census in Simsbury, with their 7 children.By that time, the name had morphed to HUTCHINSON.There were also in the household at that time Elizabeth Alexander, age 26, and John Alexander, age 22.Also a John Fulton, age 66.So far, I have no more on any of them until my grandfather, William Hutchinson, turns up in Nebraska in 1880, when he married my grandmother.Do we have a connection through the Alexanders, or can you give me any help on how to pursue the Irish connection?
