I am interested in your NH family of Alexanders fathered by Randall and Janet(l?) in which Randall was born in Ireland.
Do you know if any of this line can be traced to the Carolinas around the time of the American Revolution?I am looking at a family of Alexanders in which the name Randal appears repeatedly.
During the Revolution I have a Thomas Alexander who was born in the Carolinas in 1773.He is living in Kentucky, Pulaski co., Ky, in the 1810 U.S.Census.At that time Thomas Alexander was about 37 years old.At that time with him is a William Alexander. Thomas names his second son William Alexander.
By 1810 Pulaski County, Ky, there are three Alexanders living there.
Randal Alexander, p. 122living with him is no onehere is a view of his page
00001 (males) I think this number means he was over 45 years of age
00000 females ___________-
William Alexander, p. 123
50010 males (I have forgotten exactly this code, but I think this places William's age between 35 and 45)
10010 females (one female child under five or fifteen years and one female under 35)
Thomas Alexander, p. 123 (still 1810)
02010 males (I am following this Thomas. whose oldest son was born in 1795.His second son was born around 1796/7.
61010 females.(Thomas was married -- if I have found the correct Thomas and I am pretty certain that I have -- to a woman who was born three years after he was.so her age is in the same age bracket as his.He had several daughters as you can see by that time).
Two of the reasons that I enter a question to you here are (1) Randal was born as late as 1765 and perhaps earlier. And (2) in many places that I find Thomas Alexander I find he is listed as associated with a Randal Alexander. And there is always the chance that this Randal was born earlier than 1765 and that he may have fought in some of the wars surrounding the Rev. War.
I realize that you did not give ages for your Alexanders in New Hamp.It was the listing of these three men together that caused me to write you.I would appreciate hearing from you especially if you have any information about a Randal Alexander from New England who fought in the Rev. War.
