In the Giles County,Tennessee Minute Book C, 1816-1817, page 9 the following is listed:
June Term 1816. The last will and testament of Alexander Barron dec'd was produced in open Court and proven by the oaths of James Alexander and Nathaniel Alexander the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to recorded, and thereupon came Alexander Barron and John Barron the executors therein named and was qualified according to law and gave bond and security.
The will is that of Alexander Barron Sr. who was from York Co,S.C.and Pendleton Co,S.C. He married Catherine Berry or Barry.
His father is said to be Capt.John Barron and Margaret Meek.It is believed that the Barrons and Meeks migrated from Cecil Co,Maryland to York Co,S.C.in the 1760's. There daughter Jane Barron married my Robert Stephenson in York Co,S.C. in 1784. After Robert Stephenson died,Jane Barron married James Hope Jr. in York County,S.C. One of her sons by James Hope told an historian that his mother was born in Maryland in 1767.
James and Nathaniel Alexander may have been just witnesses to the will of Alexander Barron, but I am curious to know if anyone has a Barron-Alexander Connection.
Does anyone have the lineage for James Alexander and Nathaniel Alexander? What I have found at the Giles Co,TN website is James Alexander ran a tavern and an Archibald Alexander built the first Jail in Giles Co,TN.In 1816 Giles was part of Maury County,TN.
