We really don't have any history. We think that Nancy and Marion took in 3 of Nancy's nieces, William C.M. and Elisabeth's girls. Not sure what happened to William and lisabeth. We had heard that William Lisenby changed his name several times reasons being he was either native american or in trouble, but none of that has been verified.I located Nancy, Marion, their family, William C.M., Elisabeth and the girls in the Walton County Florida census of 1860.At some point the girls went to live with someone else and all we can remember is it was Mr. Alford, thus assuming that it was Nancy, their aunt and her husband.Right now our main focus has been on the girls and trying to find out about them.My husband is trying to prove native american ties, and has been told that Sallie Ann Gainey (Scruggs) who was William and Elisabeth's daughter might possibly have been native american. She is my husband's great-grandmother. I am sorry we do not have more info to add. This is turning into a difficult search to find any info on these girls. We are of course interested in the rest of the family history, and would like to have all that info if you have time.We can be reached at: [email protected]
Thanks for the info you have given us.
