Hi john,
I have a Maggie allan who married Robert paton Kerr in 1873. She named two of her children Barr-Paton. Both were said to be surnames of Paisley cousins. This suggests that she may have been related to an allan who married a Barr and an Allan who married a Paton. While neither name is exactly rare in Paisley your link at least has the merit of being possible geographically and temporally. All I know for certain is that there was a spinster Annie Barr who lived in Paisley
Maggie's parents ran a pub called Halfway which i believe to have been in cardonald, halfway between Glasgow and Paisley.
