According to his obit, Daniel(David)Allard was born in Alexandria, NY on November 1, 1818.He migrated to Astabula, OH and married Sarah Belle Ingraham on December 26,1837.They moved to IL where there first two daughters Katherine (Kate)Allard Yarrington (b1841-d1927), and Mary Jane Allard Veley (b1842-d1912)were born in Joliet. They then moved to Rock Co.,WI where son Edwin Allard (b1845-d1850)and four more children were born:Emily Allard Scott(b1847), Harriet Allard Richey (b1850-d1922), Charlotte (Lottie)Allard Kupps,Rogers (b abt1852-d abt1869) and William Allard (b1861-d1923).
This same obit describes Daniel as "the old Soldier" and a "gallant veteran of the Civil War, serving three years and five months in the Thirty-seventh Illinois and Twentieth Wisconsin."
The family then moved to Scott County Iowa and shortly after to Linn County, IA where Daniel and Sarah lived until their deaths in 1900 and 1901 in Cedar Rapids.
I have a good amount of info on this family if anyone is interested in this line.
