My name is Jack Morence,Decatur,IN.--I am related to the Allards through Parchers. My gggrandma was Rebecca Shockey,a full-blooded Blackfoot indian, marr. to Royal Parcher 25 Apr.in 1843 in Crawford,Ohio.
Would like info on Cherokee & Choctaw indian blood.Regards,Jack
P.S.:Zilphia had traveled the Trail of Tears & left somewhere in Illinois around Golconda. She was a Cherokee Indian woman that knew medicine.I have found her name in Johnson Co. Family and Histories. She married William Carol Belcher and they lived in Pope county Illinois. They are both buried inDexter Mo.We have been told that her Indian name was Zilphia Pigg and I can't find any info to tell me how she came to have the name Allard. Her father was listed as William Allard and in the book it also said that he knew Indian medicine.I am looking for a link on how or when she came to be a member of the Allard family. She has a daughter by the name of Sarah Ann whom married Allen Ford in Pope Co. Illinois. PPS: This was posted by Trish Mitzelfelt on May 14, 1998.
