I am trying to break thru my brick wall.Your Allen's from VA may hold some clues.I'm trying to determine the ancestry of Gideon Allen who came to Twiggs County GA from NC as a child. I know this as fact. I suspect that John Allen was the father of Gideon Allen who shows up in several Twiggs County records between 1810-1820. Based on this information possible children of John Allen may be:
1. John Allen b:1760-1770
.....2. Gideon Allen b:4/22/1805 (NC)d:4/24/1875 (LA)
............married Mary Ann Horn in 1828
............3. John G. Allen b:3/6/1835 (GA)d:9/27/1906 (LA)
......................4. 8 Children all born in LA
............3. Rufus H. Allen b:4/2/1842 (GA)d:2/1/1927 (LA)
............3. Elizabeth Allen b:3/4/1840 (GA)
............3. William P. Allen b:8/22/1844 (GA)
............3. Josiah W. Allen b: 2/3/1847 (LA)
............3. Nancy E. Allen b:1/20/1851 (LA)
............3. Georgia A. Allen b:8/18/1853 (LA)
.....2. William Allen b:1800-1810d:7/26/1831
.....2. Green Allen b:1810-1820
.....2. John W. Allen b:1800-1810
Do you have any information in your records that would indicate there is a connection between your John Allen son of Charles Allen and Nacy Vincet) to my John Allen?I have long suspected that my Allen's migrated from VA to NC because the Horn family (Gideon Allen's wife) followed that migration trail.Any help would be much appreciated and recipicated in kind.
