I really don't think we are tracing the same family but it is hard to know if they fit together or not and there is SO much bad information out there. For a number of years I just ignored this line because one of my husband's relatives had researched it and joined DAR based on the findings. Then one day I started looking at it and it just didn't fit together. Then I actual went there and found printed material on the shelves of the local library that was also wrong.
My husband's Archibald Allen was born in VA in 1819 and we believe it was Shenandoah. He married three times and had children by all three wives.Wife number two was Martha Linsey Hancock, and wife number three was Elizabeth Eleanor Washburn. He and #3 moved to Crittenden County KY and Arch died there. His wife also had BOONE children and later moved to Missouri near her son. Wife #1 is our problem. She is our mother and we don't know her name.We can tell by the birth of the children that they moved from Wilson County TN to MS, then back to Wilson County TN where there are marriage records of wife #2 and #3.
Archibald's parents were Moses Allen Jr and Juliet Robinson, and his grandparents are Moses Allen and Martha Atwood. The marriage record that I need should be in the early 1840's.
I don't know of anyone in this family that has had a DNA test.
