Re: Julia Ann Allen and Hulda Allen, both married to Lorenzo Russell

Before she died, my mother gave me information about my great-grandparents, Lorenzo and Julia--my line is through Julia. I also had an online-friend who looked up marriage(s) for Lorenzo Russell; she told me (several years ago) that Lorenzo had been married to both Hulda and Julia. At the time, I was so glad to have any information that I failed to ask for thesources; now I regret not being more meticulous about my sources. My grand-father, Thomas Jefferson Russell (Lorenzo's son), married a sister of his first wife who died after the birth of her last child. Could he have gotten the idea from his father, who might have done the same thing in marrying sisters? If you don't mind, I would like the source(s) for the info on Hulda. Though my line is not through her, she might help me find the Allen family connection for Julia, if they are indeed related. At a Russell reunion several years ago, I think I heard from some Russell family member that Julia was adopted and that she worked in the courthouse in Baldwin County, GA, when she was young. Now, I don't know who that was or how to get in touch. I would appreciate whatever help you can give me about your sources. I will explore the names of her children for hints. Thank you so much.
