In a book my grandmother, Wilma Ethel Allender Madsack, has, it indicates that the name Joshua appears at about that generation.
His family moved on to Kentucky. The widow, Hannah Stansbury Allender Robinson remarried and had several more children (between them they had about 20 kids) moved on to Indiana with her new husband. Their grown son Edward and their teen aged son, John stayed on in Bullit County. John eventually caught Gold Fever and his parents helped him buy into a wagon. Along the way they joined other wagons and John was elected Captain for the journey. He didn't do well as a prospector and instead began a carrer as a wagon train master, he made 13 trips between Kentucky and California in the 1840-1860. His brother, Edward, moved on to Missouri about 1860 on one of John's trains. His son married Frances Jane Gibbens. A stepbrother named Robinson was a Commission of Indian Affiars for Abe Lincoln, but resigned at the outbreak of the Civil War.

We do know the name of the ancestor in Maryland was Joshua and there are copies of wills and deeds in my Grandma's book.

If this sounds familiar, I can get the cousin's name and address for you, just give me a while to get my hands on it. (Grandma is 88 and moving slow these days)...
