I found your posting of interest in that I am a descendant of most of the Norman-originated names on your list - those with a 'de' and 'fitz' prefix - and a few others, being a Mayflower-recognized descendant of Mayflower passenger Richard More, the only one on that ship with extensive well-documented royal/noble ancestry. He is considered a 'gateway ancestor' as is another 17th century immigrant whose lineage ties into his - Rev. William Skepper. Both are descendants of thousands of ancient nobility of Britain and elsewhere in Europe extending as far back as post-Roman Britain. You can pull up my many forum entries through Richard More in the More forum and find all the many other surname postings that I have made and from that you should have a good idea of my genealogical lineage interests.
