Dr. Howard, I am interested in the Thomas Legion. I have a good friend that knew my my mother's parents, Homer H. Goodwin and Nancy Ann Cantrell. Nancy's mother was Josephine Augusta Payne, Josie's dad was Benjamin Franklin Payne. Ben Payne's sister married Goldman Bryson. Campbell Harrison Taylor killed Bryson at his home in Coker Creek. I don't know all the details but Bryson I was told was not a good character. The help I need is on Homer Goodwin's side. His mother was Eliza Gentry, daughter of Charles A. Gentry and Jane Williams of Monroe county Tennessee. It is Charles' mother I need your help. She married James Riley Gentry in 1838 in Monroe county, her name was Catherine Louisa last name unknown. She died in Monroe county and on her headstone is Catherine E.. One of Charles' brothers was named Riley Ellison Gentry. I thought maybe the E. on Catehrine's headstone was for Ellison her possible maiden name. My old friend I mentioned at the beggining is Clarra K. Berry, grandson of C. C. Berry, a Captain in Thomas' Legion. Campbell Talyor was a cousin to Goldman Bryson's wife. The civil war was a terrible event and it turned families against one another. I hope you hold no hate toward me for my family. Thanks for any help. Ronnie
