Dena: I, too, am having problems locating the Amersons that I want in Georgia. The name Larry Amerson may be the Sheriff of Shelby County in Anniston, Alabama. He was searching for a Jesse (Jessie) Amerson and I, too, was looking for Jesse Azalee Amerson, who is my husband's grandfather. He was born about 1872 and died February of 1946, just after WWII. He married Effie Norris in 1891.If any of this sounds familiar, please respond as soon as possible.I've not been able to find him as of yet on the census. He had one brother named Eivins that we know of. He went to Texas for quiet some time and returned to Georgia and married, raised his family and died in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. I did find a Martha Amerson who listed two children as Eivins and Nancy. I believe it was on the 1870 census of Taylor County, Georgia (Reynolds District). I feel this Martha is his mother, but does not give or refer to husband. He could have been born illegitimate. But to confirm this I am now searching the 1880 and 1900 census and have not found them in the same district. It's a large undertaking to search for someone when you don't know where they lived after that. If any of this sounds familiar, let me know. Our Jesse had three children, William Clarence, Claude Azalee, and Mabel or Mae Bell.I am married to William Clarence Amerson, Jr. Let me hear from you. Thanks and have a great day.Dorothy Amerson
