I still can't make a direct connection to your gr-gr-grandfather Thomas Amy (1834-1906) and Harriet Plant (1844-1922), but I am quite sure that he was likely a nephew of one Cotton Amy (1808-1893)and his wife Mary Hoskin (1814-1877). Cotton and Mary came to Canada in April/May 1847, along with his brother Moses Amy Sr. (1803-1891) and his wife Mary Neil(1801-1876).Moses settled near Exeter, Ontario, while Cotton settled in Upper Pilkington Twp.A sister of Moses and Cotton, Ann (Amy) Auger(1814-1876), later came to Canada and lived near Cotton. Other siblings of Moses, Cotton and Ann include Thomas (1805-), John(1806-)and Robert(1811-).I don't believe the latter three siblings emigrated from Cornwall, England.I suspect that your gr-gr-grandfather Thomas Amy (1834-1906)was the son of one of the three siblings who remained in England.I do have information that indicates that your gr-gr-grnadfather stayed for a time with Cotton and Mary in Pilkington Twp. The parents of the above noted siblings were Thomas Amy and Rebecca Penniligann. I understand that Thomas and Harriet had ten children. From which of these children are you descended? I would be very interested in having a copy of the picture of Thomas and Harriet as well as learning more about your ancestors.Where did they live and what were their occupations?
