I'm looking for descendents of Samuel T.ANDERSON listed in the 1850 Marshall Co, WV census: Samuel - 34, farmer, b.OH; Margaret E. - 27, wife, b.PA; children all b.VA: Elizabeth J. - 8; Joseph H. - 6; Mary L. - 5; Billy J. - 3; Sara A. - 4/12.Also, living in adjacent household was Joseph ANDERSON, 71, farmer, and Esther M. -16, and Elizabeth - 14.I assume Joseph was Samuel's father. As the two girls are too old to be Samuel's children (or, rather, his wife's) we can assume they are, indeed, Joseph's daughters (and Samuel's younger sisters). In Nov. 1861, at age 46, Samuel enlisted in Co. H, 11th WV Infantry. His son, Joseph H. Anderson (1843-1890), served as bugler in Co. B, 12th WV infantry. Also in 11th Inf (Co. K) was George W. Postlethwaite, whose daughter, Maria, married Samuel's son Joseph in 1867.(All three of these veterans later filed for pensions on account of their service.) Joseph and Maria's first child was Sarah Ellen Anderson (1868-1965) - my great-grandmother. She told me stories of her father's time in Andersonville prison. Would like to contact anyone with connections to any of these people.
