Anderson, Griffith and Sencney Families
My name is Diana Claussen.I am working on my Anderson and Griffith lines.
In doing my research, I have found an entry that has stumped me for a long time...not unusual.Someone might be able to help.
I have an Archibald McCorkle Anderson whose second marriage is recorded as having been to an Amelia Louise Sencney.I have never been able to make any progress on the family of Amelia Louise.
This is what I think I know:
Archibald McCorkle Anderson
b. ~ 1805 in east Tennessee or north Georgia
m. 1 to Virginia Apperson 1838.
m. 2 to Amelia Louise Sencney in ~1840.Amelia was born ~1817
Theodocia Ernestine Anderson
b. Feb 1858 or 1859 in Tennessee Colony, Anderson, Texas
m. Richmond Bourland Griffith on December 31, 1874 in Cooper, Delta County, Texas.
Sencney is a VERY unusual surname.Based on the number of emails/queries/IGI entries for Sisney/Sissney families, it is also possible that Louise's family name was Sisney or Sissney. However, I have found one George Sencney who fought in the Civil War.
Amelia Louise is my gr-gr grandmother.
Does anyone who has done work on these Griffiths or Andersons possibly have an Amelia Louise Sencney in your records who matches any of the above information? If not, could you recommend someone who might?
Any help or suggestions you can give me would be very much appreciated.
Thank you very much,
