ANDREW K. ANDERSON was born June 24, l832, at Stavanger, Norway, and died June 9, l92l, aged 88 years, eleven months and sixteen days.He came to America in l857 and was married to INGER OLEHAVEN at Mislon, LaSalle County, Illinois, on the 5th day of July, l857.To this union were born eight children, the first, a son, dying in infancy, the others are all living, ANDREW, MRS. ANNA A. DANCER, DANIEL OSCAR and NELLIE, of Lamoni, Iowa, BENJAMIN, of Omaha, Nebr., and DAVID, of State College, Pennsylvania.
In his native land he united with the Lutheran Church and remained a member of that church until March l7, l862, when he was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, at Mission, Illinois, by Vance Jorgenson.He was ordained to the office of teacher, September 9, l866 at Mission, Ill., by Thomas Hougas and Mad Madison, and dilligently and wisely performed the duties of that office until within a few years of his death.It can be truly said he was faithful unto his trust until death.
They moved to Decatur County, Iowa in this vicnity of Lamoni, Iowa, in March, l872, and have made their home near the town and in the town until the time of his death.He was preceded by his wife, February ll, l92l, and since that time he has expressed a wish and longed for the time when he could join her on the other side.He leaves to mourn two daughters, five sons, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.Funeral in charge of J.A. One of our pioneer citizens has been taken to his long rest.He has done his part well in the community and earned a place of honor in the memory of all those who knew him.
