Someone please help me! I must find his parents.This man came from nowhere and disappeared.Reuben Anderson b ca 1800 in Scott Co., Virginia; married February 9, 1824 Lucy Burke.Marriage took place in Scott County, Virginia and was performed by Robert Kilgore. (I managed to find a marriage license.) He died about 1843/44 in Pike County Kentucky. This is what I have for him: The 1830 census for Washington County, Virginia lists: Reubin Anderson:1 male 0-5; 1 male 20-30; 1 female 5-10; 1 female 20-30
He came from Virginia to Pike County, KY about 1833 when he first appears inthe tax list.
He was appointed surveyor of a road from William Ramey's millhouse, up Elkhorn, to Abner Carty's in Aug. 1833. (Order BK B,page 108). Pike County Kentucky Tax List 1834 Reuben Anderson is listed Pike County Kentucky Tax List 1835 Reuben Anderson is on the list He appears in the 1840 Census for Pike Co., KY. Reuben Anderson, 1 male 30-40; 1male 10-15; 1 male age 5-10; 2 males age 0-5. 1 female age 30-40; 2 females age 10-15; 2 females 5-10 and 1 female 0-5
He gave oral consent for the marriage of his daughter Susannah Nov. 26, 1843.
Then in 1843 and 1844 his widow is exempted from county levies. (Order Bk B1, page 116).
Pike County Kentucky Court Order Book 1, page 116 Shows a Reuben Anderson, Exonerated, Y482, Y516, 8-152
Reuben and Lucy lived in and around Pike and Floyd Counties Kentucky.
He is listed as John Reuben Anderson on his son Aaron's death certificate on all other records he is listed as Reuben Anderson.
