NORWOOD NEWS:
CHAS. KAIL, wife and two children of Des Moines, and EARL SAUNDERS and wife
of Carlisle, are spending the holidays at the GEO. WALLACE home.
JESSE R. ASHBY and GEORGIA BOND were married on Christmas Day by Rev. Brown,
at the home of the bride; she being the daughter of CHAS. R. BOND and wife,
and the groom a son of G.L ASHBY and wife, two of our best families. They
will go to housekeeping on the W. E. ASHBY farm, east of town.
A ten days' singing convention is being conducted by Prof. Dunham of new
York. It will close next Friday evening with a concert.
C.C. TAYLOR and family of Warren County, visited for a few days at the
parental C.R. BOND home recently.
J.W. WHITEHEAD and CHARLOTTE PETERSON were married Christmas Day at the home
of the bride's parents, N. PETERSON and wife. We are not acquainted with
the groom (he being from a distance) but the bride is of one of our most
respected families. We are not advised where they will reside.
EFFIE WALLACE, who is teaching in Polk County, is spending her vacation with
her parents here.
EDD ANDERSON cut his foot severely while chopping wood.
MRS. FLORENCE PEDIGO is visiting in Russell this week.
J.P. RHODES sold his fat cattle to TOM ASHBY.
JAKE NINES have a sick child.
MRS. W.S. PENNINGTON is quite sick.
MR. CLORE, from Missouri, is visiting his cousins, H.D. and W.W. CLORE, here
MRS. JED ROBERTS of Des Moines, is visiting her parents GEO. SNUGGS and
family.
