I am not researching these people, just entering information.From the Davie County Heritage Book:
"John Anderson, the eighth child of Richard and Sara Neil Anderson, was born April 1, 1837, died August 22, 1896.He married Tabitha Olivia Turner on July 28, 1862.She was born May 12, 1837, and died September 19, 1862.She is buried at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church in Iredell County."
"John Anderson then married Julia Ellen Blackwell, September 14, 1868.She was born September 6, 1850 in Davie County near Holman's Cross Roads, daughter of Robert and Emily M. Cheshire Blackwell, owners and operators of a plantation in the western part of Davie, where both lived and died.Julia Blackwell Anderson died March 18, 1915, at age 65.She is buried in Statesville."
"John Anderson was a physician.He studied and received his medical diploma from the New York City Medical College.Following graduation, he was for two years an intern at the Bellevue Hospital in New York.He returned to Calahain and Davie County to practice medicine.As a physician, he was exempt from military duty during the Civil War.However, toward the close he was called to Fort Fisher.Following the war he returned to Davie to continue in the active practice of medicine until death in 1896.He was first buried in the Anderson Graveyard, but later was moved to the Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.His medical books and surgical instruments were donated by the family to the Bowman Gray school of Medicine."
