I'm seeking information about the family of Jens Anderson (or Andersen) and his wife, Ellen Johnson (or other surname, possibly).
They were living in Racine, WI, in 1900, with three children: Clara (b. Oct 1892), Anna (b. May 1894), and Louis (b. Mar 1896).
I've been told that the family moved to Alabama abt. 1904, with the addition of at least three more children-- Emma Christina (b. 30 Mar 1904), Anine (b. 2 Dec 1900), and Elsie (b. 26 Nov 1901).
To the best of my knowledge, they had three more children--Ida (b. ????), Alfred (b. ????), and Raymond (b. 30 Dec 1906).
Jens Anderson/Andersen was born Dec. 1863 in Denmark. Both parents were born in Denmark.Jens immigrated to the US in 1885 and worked as a farmer in Racine, Wisconsin.
He married Ellen Johnson (name may be incorrect) abt. 1891.(I was told by family that they married in Racine, but the 1900 census seems to indicate that they were married in the year prior to her immigration, so I'm uncertain...)
Ellen Johnson was born Feb. 1867 in Sweden. Both parents were born in Sweden.Ellen immigrated to the US in 1892.
I am descended from Jens and Ellen Anderson/Andersen through their daughter, Emma Christina Andersen, who married Marshall Cainie Lassitter in Baldwin Co., AL, in 1923.
I would appreciate any information on Jens, Ellen, their ancestors, or their descendants.Thank you!
Other (unproven) tidbits on the children of Jens and Ellen:
Clara was serving as a missionary in Africa, as of 1978. She married an unknown Carlson.
Anine died Feb 1980 in AL.She had married an unknown Carlton.
Elsie died Sep 1978 in AL.
Emma Christina died 2 Jan 1978 in Baldwin Co., AL, where many of her descendants remain.
Raymond died Aug 1983 in AL.Because his name was given to me as "Raymond Andersen Sr.", I assume that he gave his name to a son.
Louis is said to have died of a ruptured appendix, but I have know idea how old he was at the time.
