Obit: Vivian Pearl (Anderson) Hill b.1918 Elstow, SK
November 8th, 1918 - September 20th, 2005. Vivian Pearl Hill (Anderson) was born to Bob and Mabel Anderson in the Elstow district. Vivian had one brother, Gordon and three sisters, Vida, Doreen and Irene. Her childhood was spent attending Denell School and helping out on the family farm. Vivian married Bill Hill in 1937. The couple lived in the Elstow/ Blucher area all of their married life. Bill and Vivian eventually settled on a farm ten miles northeast of Blucher where they raised five children. Throughout these years Vivian enjoyed working hard and caring for her family. She had a special fondness for music and dancing. Her sense of humor charmed everyone with whom she came in contact. After her husband passed away in 1980, Vivian stayed on the farm for a few years before moving to Saskatoon in 1984. As a widow she enjoyed playing cards and visiting with neighbors. Vivian rarely passed up an opportunity to participate in a practical joke or entertain guests with her harmonica. In addition to her husband, Vivian is predeceased by her daughter, Isabelle (1940); her son, Melvin (1993); sister, Vida Elliot (1997); brother-in-law, Ted Elliot (1999); and brother, Gordon Anderson (1994). She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Harry) Little and sons, Orville and Gary Hill. Vivian also had a close relationship with her daughter-in-law, Alice. She has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family. A public visitation will be held on Monday, September 26th from 10:00 11:00 a.m. at Mourning Glory Funeral Services (1201 8th Street E). A Memorial service to Celebrate Vivian's Life will be held on Monday, September 26th, at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Stensrud Lodge (2202 McEown Ave) with coffee to follow.
